Our second session allowed us to complete a second year, although the players for Wales and Norway were unable to attend they left instructions and we muddled on through. 1067 Spring - Normandy attacks Norway with support from England. Norway is backed up by Alba. Battle of Borre sees the Vikings take a defensive posture behind a fast flowing steep banked river and BUA. They watch as the English contingent pushes their Scots allies back onto their boats after which the Normans push across the river and take the BUA. 1067 Autumn - Alba attacks Normandy with support from Wales. England comes in to help the Normans. Battle of Bayeaux sees the outnumbered Scots throw back repeated Norman charges eventually killing the Norman general. Welsh and English batter each other in the centre. Normans are defeated but the Scots take high casualties as well 1067 Autumn - Orkney invade England. Battle of York sees the English with Welsh support narrowly defeat the Islemen - heavy casualites on both sides. 1067 Autumn - Norman counter offensive. The Scots elect to stay within Bayeaux but the city is taken and the Scots army massacred. At the end of 1067 the prestige table stands at England - 11.7 Normandy 8.8 Orkney - 7.9 Norway - 7.2 Alba - 6.9 Wales - 4.8

Our third session allowed us to complete another year. Once again we were short a couple of players but thanks to my elder warband (10 y.o. Ashliegh) we had a quorum and pressed on. 1068 Spring - Orkney invades Scotland and besieges Carham whilst the remnant Scots army holds out behind the city walls and beats back the assaults. 1068 Spring - Norway attacks Norman held Borre. The city surrenders and so is recovered by the Norwegians. 1068 Summer - Normandy once again invades Norway with support from England. Battle of Borre sees the Normans thrown back to the sea. 1068 Summer - Wales attacks Orkneys possession in the Lowalnds, with support from both England and Alba. Battle of Dumbarton sees the Welsh warbands crash through the Islmen crippling the Orcadian army and capturing Dumbarton. The support from England and the Alba failed to arrive, 1068 Summer - The beaten but not broken Orcadians sail around Scotland to attack Carham once more. The city is beseiged and holds out. 1068 Autumn - Orkney's seige of Carham continues but fails to make headway. The city holds out. 1068 Autumn - England marches to the relief of Carham. Orkney falls back. At the end of 1068 the prestige table stands at England - 16.7 Norway - 14.3 Wales - 13.3 Normandy 10.8 Orkney - 7.9 Alba - 6.9

The long awaited fourth installment - once again we were a couple of players down but thanks to Memnon filling in for England and David Osborne stepping up to take over Norway we had enough for a good series of games . In fact we finished two years - peppered my many multi player battles 1069 Summer ( The summer of love )- England invades Norway with Norman and Welsh Support. Battle of Borre sees the Norwegians and their Scots Allies crash through the English line just before the Normans and Welsh can charge in to affect the result. 1069 Autumn - Normandy invades Norway to take pressure off the English. Second battle of Borre is a fizzer. The Vikings stay in the dunes, the Normans dance around in the flat ground. One element of Norman Bw is killed before they leave in disgust. At the end of 1069 the prestige table stands at Norway - 24.2 Wales - 18.3 England - 17.7 Normandy 13.8 Orkney - 7.9 Alba - 6.9 1070 Spring Alba invades England. A Norman contingent en route to the battle is wiped out by storms. Battle of York sees the canny Scots suceed in rolling up the English left flank in spite of being heavily outnumbered. It didn't go all the way of the Scots though. Their general was killed in the process along with two other elements. 1070 Summer Normandy attacks Scots held York. Norway and Wales each weigh in on the side of the Scots whilst England sends a contingent to assist the Normans. Second battle of York sees the outnumbered Scots spring an ambush and push the Normans to the brink. However the Norman Kn general went toe to toe with the Scots LH general and eventually pushed him back onto a BUA. York falls to the Normans. 1070 Summer Orkney attacks Norway. Battle of Bergen sees the Scots Isles make a bold attempt to flank the Vikings, and storm their camp from a littoral landing. The move fails when their landing force is killed in the enemy camp, and their own camp is taken by the lowland Scots contingent. At the end of 1070 the prestige table stands at Norway - 29.9 Wales - 23.3 England - 19.2 Normandy 17.4 Alba - 10.1 Orkney - 9.9

Our campaign continues - today we added the County of Flanders to the map as we welcome a new player. 1071 Spring - Flanders invades England. Battle of Hastings sees the Flemish Knights crash through the centre of the Saxon Line crushing the English and taking Hastings. 1071 Summer - Flanders continues the offensive into England with an attack on London. The English army remains behind the city walls and throws back the invaders. 1071 Summer - Gwennydd invades Orkney laying seige to Dunvegan with the Isles army inside. The city holds out but the army of the Isles is now trapped. 1071 Summer - second prong of the offensive into Orkney. Alba invades secure in the knowledge that the army is already occupied. They storm Thorsa and take it. 1071 Autumn - Flemish seige of London continues, the English hold out. 1071 Autumn - Normandy attacks Alba. The Scots give battle and are supported by the Welsh. Norway sends a contingent as well but the troops are lost at sea. Battle of Carham sees a convincing Norman Victory. 1071 Autumn - Welsh seige of Dunvegan continues but the invaders cannot breach the city's defences. 1071 Autumn - The Islemen sally from Dunvegan to drive off the invaders. They land a force on the flank of the enemy line and this group rolls up the Welsh line. At the end of 1071 the prestige table is Norway - 30.9 Normandy - 26.0 Wales - 23.3 England - 19.2 Orkney - 15.8 Alba - 10.1 Flanders - 0.8 1072 Spring - Flanders attacks London once again. This time the city falls making England a vassal of the Flemish. 1072 Spring - Normandy invades Flanders. Flemish and their English vassals give battle. Battle of St Omer sees the Normans narrowly defeat the Flemish and take the city. 1072 Spring - Alba attacks Carham in an attempt to regain the town. The city holds out and a seige ensues. 1072 Spring - Orkney attacks Scots held Thorsa whilst the Scots are committed at Carham. The city holds out and a seige ensues. At the end of Spring 1072 the prestige table stands at Norway - 30.9 Normandy - 28.5 Wales - 23.3 England - 19.2 Orkney - 15.8 Alba - 10.1 Flanders - 0.8

The city holds out and a siege commences. 1073 Spring - Alba attacks Orkney with support from Wales. Battle of Dunvegan sees the more heavily armoured and equipped Islemen crush the Scots. The Welsh arrive but do not influence the outcome of the battle. 1073 Spring - Orkney pursues the fleeing Welsh back to St Asaph. The two sides prepare for battle but the outcome is a draw when the Welsh occupy a steep hill and dare the Islemen to attack. 1073 Summer - Norwegian gold and advisers foment a revolt in England. They throw off their allegience to Flanders. It becomes apparent that Flanders is unable to react to any threats this year. 1073 Summer - Norman seige of Eu continues, but the city continues to defy the attackers. 1073 Summer - Orkney attacks Welsh territory again. Battle of Dumbarton sees the same result as at St Asaph. The Welsh occupy the bad going and the Islemen remain in the open until nightfall when they sail off. 1073 Summer - Norway invades the newly independant England. The English remain in London whilst the Vikings besiege Winchester. The city resists. 1073 Summer - England launches its own bid against Flanders. They besiege Hastings in an attempt to recover it. 1073 Summer - after relocating in Welsh territory, Alba fails to get permission from either Flanders or England to cross their territory to attack Normandy. 1073 Autumn - The Normans finally breach the walls of Eu and retake the town. 1073 Autumn - Alba bases its army in Viking held York but once again fails to get permission from either Flanders or England to cross their territory to attack Normandy. As an alternative they attack Orkney and once again besiege Thorsa. The city holds out. 1073 Autumn - Orkney makes a third attack on Wales. This time the Welsh at Dumbarton do not go the the relief of St Asaph. The city promptly surrenders to the invaders. 1073 Autumn - Norwegian siege of Winchester continues, as does the resistance of the English defenders.
