Cypriot vs Med Sweden part 3 DBMM

These next two pictures are different views of the same stage of the battle.

The Catalan's fierce warriors that they are, launch a devastating attack on the Finn's in the wood with overlaps and one promptly dies, so much for fierce warriors. The Turks wear some bow fire but apart from some of them recoiling are unconcerned.

In the centre the knights belatedly decide to swing to the right and try to attack the dismounted Swedish knights before they start slaughtering the Cypriot infantry. Looking at it now it was a crazy move that should have been punished by the Swedes if they had had even vaguely decent dice. The Stradiots came forward to slow the opposing infantry down rather than kill anything. Some of the Armenians doing the same job on the left hand flank of the Swedish knights and the other end of the Swede infantry line. So close for the Swede’s at this point the hand gunners have come of the hill ready to monster the Armenians in the following turns.

Several turns later the Turks on the left flank have polished of the bowman and are fighting the Swedish cavalry, the Catalans continue to fall on their own swords and loose another element to the Finn's.

in the centre the Stradiots are forced to launch attacks on the crossbow in front of them, to stop the shooting. The Cypriot knights thread the needle......just! and put themselves in front of the opposing blade.

On the right the heavily outnumbered Armenians have decided the new fangled handguners that the opposition are using aren't all that scary after all. Wiping them and their supports out in several turns with some brilliant rolls.

The final picture shows the Dismounted Swedish knights being devastated by the Cypriot knights after bouncing the knights off them on the first turn of contact. They then died almost to a man over three turns. The Cypriot's Italian crossbow mercenaries becoming bold enough to swing onto the flank and start gunning down their opposition. The Stradiot Light horse are now down to two elements, one guarding the flank of the knights. The other found itself alone in front of the Swede infantry having lost 3 of its wingmen to the crossbows killing two in return, but more importantly gaining enough space for the knights to get in front of the dismounted knights.

Out of shot on the far left the Turks after a losing a few elements to the Swede cavalry have swung a few elements around behind the infantry and are slaughtering the Swede’s. The Catalans lost another element to the Fin's and really didn't live up to expectations, by the end of the game they both had lost two elements each.

Final score 22 -3 to the Cypriots, thanks to Bryan my opponent. It had the chance to go the other way early on but poor dice and the inert general slowed his attack down.

DBMM continues to impress me with all its tactical options and the white knuckle moments. It's a complex rule set but has been well worth the investment in  time.

Cheers

Chris

And at the end of the game the Cypriot Bow were still stuck in the wood sigh!:/
