Cypriot vs Med Sweden part 2 DBMM

Posted by BW Designs on November 5, 2011 at 9:35 AM

Turn One.

The Cypriots launch their attack.

On the left The mercenary Catalans (superior Axillia Ax (s)) and Turkish Light horse (Lh (S) head towards the gap between the woods and the end of the Swede battle line.

In the centre The CINC (commander in chief) in charge of the knights, some bow and the Stradiots (Albanian Light horse ordinary Lh(O)) and the peasant horde Guarding the baggage. cautiously moves the knights forward once and the crossbow a few times to cut down the manoeuvre possibilities of the Swedes.

On the right flank the commander and his mercenary crossbow do a little dance (probably wondering why they were stuck out in the middle of nowhere all alone) and the psiloi march forward slowly not keen to get into contact with either the dismounted knights or the large group of hand gunners and archers (Ps (S and O))covering the flank of the Swedish knights.

Second turn

On the right flank: the Swedes have moved the Cavalry over to almost cover the gap between the bow and the woods, in response the Catalans have expanded in preparation to assault the Finnish Auxillia in the woods and the Turks have decided to not to push their luck and not try to scoot through the gap. Common sense kicks in and they decide to  expanded into an attack formation (two deep) and take their chances agains the bow.

In the centre: both sides don't move that much due to bad pips and an Inert Swede general don't help.

On the Right Flank: the Swedish dismounted knights wheel ponderously towards the nice meaty target that is the Cypriot infantry, their covering Psiloi follow as well trying to get to combat as quickly as possible to take advantage of their bigger numbers. The Cypriot general back pedals with his crossbow leaving the Ps to their fate.

Second turn

Hurts says...
I would at least put a tree on the green felt!

It's all about historical accuracy, showing the deforestation of Medieval Cyprus!
Actually I have no idea why we didn't put down some trees I usually do, Glynn at fervale scenics has some nice ones I usually use.
Cheers
